A former Manager of Katsina United Football Club (KUFC), Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi, has commended the club for its recent match victories.
These include the club's listing in the Nigerian Football Premier League (NFPL).
Dan Arewa, who is the Member Representing Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, gave th commendation in a chat with newsmen in Katsina.
He said the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, must be commended for his support and initiatives to boost the performance of the club.
"The Governor introduced a policy of Public-Private Partnership in managing the club, he opened up the club's funding to investors from the private sector.
"This is in line with global best practice in football management, big football clubs in the world are funded by large companies.
"When large companies invest in a football club, they will do what it takes to encourage the players to win matches.
They will also do what it takes to make a club to earn profits to manage itself, therefore the governor must be commended for his commitment to the growth and development of Katsina United", Dan Arewa said.
He also commended the the Katsina State Commissioner of Sports as well as Katsina FC's coaches, members of the Supporters Club and other football enthusiasts from the state of their contributions.
"They contributed in no small measure to this big success, and we hope they will give his kind of contribution in subsequent matches.
"They commissioner told me that our players will be paid their match bonuses promptly to encourage them.
"I also pledge that I will give them an additional bonus of N30,000 each to encourage them to sustain the tempo of good performance in their subsequent matches.
"In addition to this, an appeal fund has been set up to receive contributions from other Katsina State indigenes that are passionate about seeing the success of Katsina United, it is our club, we have to support it to grow bigger and more successful.
"I also express my appreciation to the Danburam Daura, District Head of Baure for his passion in supporting these boys to perform well in matches, he has been part of every meeting to support our players", he said.
Alhaji Aminu Dan Arewa urged football supporters,coaches, and other stakeholders to continue to support the club to make it excell in its future match encounters.
